HISTORY OF MOLINE ACRES

On November 12, 1949, the Board of Trustees passed Ordinance No. 1 establishing the name of the Village of Moline Acres.  The population at that time was less than 500 residents and the Board of Trustees consisted of five (5) members with an annual salary of $1.00.

On January 13, 1961, twelve years later, a proposition was put on the ballot providing for the Village of Moline Acres, Missouri to become a fourth class city.  The proposition required a majority vote and the majority decided that the Village of Moline Acres would now be the City of Moline Acres.  Shortly thereafter, the city was divided into two wards to be known as Ward 1 and Ward 2 at which time boundaries were set.

As we move into the twentieth century, the City of Moline Acres have gone through many changes.  We have grown to over 2500 residents and with your help we continue to press towards the future seeking new and positive ways to improve our community.  As the elected officials and staff work hard to move the city forward, we stand united and proud to be a part of a "City with a Vision".
